Police Arrest Second Suspect In Viral Video Beating

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Authorities have arrested a second suspect in the videotaped assault on a woman that sparked outrage across the world.

The Sacramento Police Department said 19-year-old Donnell Wade was arrested Saturday in South Sacramento while officers were responding to an unrelated weapons call near Omaha Court and Seyferth Way.

Wade is allegedly the second man in the viral video released in October that showed two men attacking a 42-year-old woman in a shopping center near Center Parkway and Mack Road. The video shows one suspect slapping the woman before Wade allegedly punched her in the chin, knocking her to the ground.

The other suspect, identified as 21-year-old Rasaan Zawadi, was arrested on October 13 on assault charges with gang enhancements. When Zawadi was being transferred to the Sacramento County Jail in police custody, CBS13 asked him if he was the suspect shown in the video, to which Zawadi responded, "Yeah, n----."

Wade was arrested on felony battery on a civilian and is in custody at the Sacramento County Main Jail. His next court date is scheduled for Tuesday, November 15.
