UPDATE: Son Arrested In Weekend Slaying Of Mother

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Sheriff's deputies arrested a 20-year-old Sacramento man on Monday who is suspected in the brutal murder of his mother.

The woman, Lisa Maria Barber, was found dead on Saturday in an apartment on the 5400 block of College Oak Drive.

On Sunday, the Sacramento County Sheriff's Department said Barber's son, Angelo Wright, is believed to be responsible for killing her and that they believe he acted alon. Wright was arrested at about 1:15 p.m. on Monday. He was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on a charge of murder and is being held without bail.

An elderly man flagged down a bystander for help shortly after 5 p.m. Saturday, leading them into an apartment where the victim lay unresponsive and suffering from trauma to her upper body. Paramedics pronounced Barber dead at the scene.

Wright is described as a black male, about 5 feet, 7 inches tall, weighing about 165 pounds and is known to frequent the Foothill Farms area, according to investigators.
