Clippers Match Warriors' Offer For Jordan

OAKLAND (AP) — The Los Angeles Clippers have matched Golden State's four-year, $42.7 million offer for center DeAndre Jordan.

The teams announced the move Monday.

Golden State signed Jordan to the offer sheet Sunday. As a restricted free agent, the Clippers had three days to decide whether to match the contract.

The 6-foot-11 Jordan has emerged as an athletic and promising young center in three years in Los Angeles. He averaged 7.1 points and 7.2 rebounds in 25 minutes per game last season.

The Warriors also unsuccessfully pursued former Dallas center Tyson Chandler, watching him go to the New York Knicks.

Golden State hosts the Clippers in the regular-season opener Dec. 25.
