Michael Lyon Accused Of Trying To Sell Sex Tapes, Intimidating A Witness In New Lawsuit

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – More allegations are coming out against Sacramento businessman Michael Lyon claiming that he not only secretly videotaped women but tried to sell the tapes for profit and attempted to keep a witness from testifying against him.

A CBS13 investigation first broke the news of Lyon secretly taping women last year.

Lyon recently finished serving house arrest after pleading guilty to videotaping four women. One of those women has now filed a civil suit against Lyon.

In the court documents obtained by CBS13, the woman says she believes Michael Lyon "transmitted, published, broadcast, sold, or offered for sale" the tapes of their sexual encounter to adult websites.

The lawsuit also claims that when Lyon found out the woman was being called to testify against him, he hired people to "harass and intimidate her against testifying."

This latest lawsuit brings the number of people suing Lyon to eight.

Earlier this month, civil attorney Robert Zimmerman added three women to a civil suit against Lyon.

Zimmerman says among the new plaintiffs, one was Lyon's children's babysitter, the other a nanny and the third a high school-age friend.

Zimmerman says law enforcement told the women they may have been unknowing victims. They were brought in to verify they were actually in the videos. The videotaping happened between the early 1990s and 2006.

New court documents allege that Lyon had a camera in a bathroom ceiling vent. In part of the video a hand can be seen adjusting a lens on one of the cameras. The documents also claim that a man who appears to be Lyon can be seen in one of the videos adjusting a camera.

Zimmerman says the camera was hidden inside an alarm clock and that Lyon was apparently adjusting the camera shortly before an 18-year-old girl entered the room to use the bathroom.
