Mom Arrested After Fatal DUI Accident

STOCKTON (CBS13) – A mother of four is behind bars after allegedly killing a pedestrian while driving drunk Saturday evening, authorities said.

The Stockton Police Department arrested 29-year-old Lanesha Lasha Thomas after a deadly crash on West March Lane and Tyrol Lane just before 5:45 p.m. Saturday left a 66-year-old male victim dead.

Thomas struck the pedestrian, identified by family members as John Ryan, in the crosswalk of West March Lane, just a short distance from the victim's home, police said.

When investigators arrived at the scene, they found that Thomas was driving with four children in the backseat. None of the vehicle's occupants were injured.

Thomas was arrested and is facing charges of vehicular manslaughter, felony drunk driving and endangering children.
