Animal lovers know there is really no such thing as a "spoiled" dog; there are only hounds who are finally getting the kind of treatment they so richly deserve. Sacramento has a wealth of opportunities for deserving, style-conscious canines that want to look good in the dog park. Here are some of the tops spots we found to help you turn your pooch into a fashion plate.

Trends-n-Treats offers a wide range of both fanciful and functional apparel for the puppy-love of your life. Their canine couture comes from designers who make everything from pink bathing suits and denim overalls with skull and crossbone appliqués to doggy goggles and life jackets. Owner Millie Finch seeks out talented artisans to create unique American-made clothing and supplies for the Trends-n-Treats boutique. Trends-n-Treats can special-order items and even has a section for "big and tall" dogs.

Wagger's Pet Supply has many t-shirts, sweaters and jackets for your favorite sharp-dressed dog. They pride themselves on having items that are more unique and of higher quality than those sold in the large pet store chains. Clothing comes in sizes appropriate for Teacup Yorkies and all the way up to Cocker Spaniels.

The Critter Outfitter is located inside the Sacramento County Animal Shelter and is run by volunteers from the nonprofit group TEAM (Teaching Everyone That Animals Matter). They feature various dog fashions such as pinafores, sweaters, dresses and raincoats. The prices are affordable, many of the clothing items are hand-made and one-of-a-kind. Best of all, the proceeds help promote shelter adoptions and assist with the cost of veterinary care.

Don't let the limited square-footage fool you; Land Park Pet Supply has plenty to offer. Doggie divas can find a range of sweater designs and sizes and there are brochures on hand with many more designs that can be ordered. They also sell adorable yellow slickers for dogs, which are perfect for splashing around in Sacramento's rainy days of winter. Sizes are available for small pooches and those up to about 40 pounds; larger sizes can be ordered.

Groovy Doggy is one of the few places to specialize in clothes for larger dogs. Their handmade creations are suited for canines the size of an average pit bull, but can also be ordered to fit everything from tiny breeds up to Great Danes. A variety of fabrics and designs are also available, customized to your needs. The owner donates a portion of the proceeds to the nonprofit Chako Pit Bull Advocacy & Rescue in Sacramento. This Sacramento small business serves customers via phone and email, so there are no parking hassles or lines to wait in.
