Two Sumatran Tiger Cubs Born In San Diego
SAN DIEGO (AP) — The San Diego Zoo is welcoming two new babies — a pair of Sumatran tiger cubs.
The zoo says the male cubs were born on March 6 in the Safari Park. They were left alone in a den with their mother until Thursday, when zookeepers began playing with them to get them used to human contact when they need vet care.
As yet, the cubs have no names.
Sumatran tigers are critically endangered, with only 400 left in the wild. Twenty-five have been born at the San Diego park since 1972.
