Park And Rec Employee Accused Of Sexually Harassing Children

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – A mother is too afraid to show her face but not afraid to speak out to warn parents of a potential predator who she claims said sexually inappropriate things to her 8-year-old daughter and her daughter's friend.

"He didn't have any underwear on if they wanted to pull down his pants," the mother said the man told the children.

He wasn't under arrest as of Wednesday night, but Sacramento police confirm they're investigating the allegations against an employee who works for the Sacramento Parks and Recreation program called "Fourth R" that serves elementary kids at Hollywood Park and Leonardo Da Vinci.

"She trusted him. He was somebody that she had full trust in," said the mother, who said she also trusted him.

She says he was a favorite among the kids but this past Monday, her daughter and friend told another worker the man made the comment not once but three times.

The man, who helped with the program for nearly two decades, was put on leave right away. A letter went out to parents Tuesday.

"I want parents to know that it was sexual harassment," the mother said.

Allegations against a man well known and well liked by the kids, a reputation this mother is now questioning.

"Sick, mentally sick. I don't see how any adult that's supposed to be a kid's caretaker, protector, can do something to a child like this," the mother said.
