Wilton Man Runs 24 Hours For Charity

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Kris Vogt may feel like a child but he's about to attempt something few adults can even do.

Vogt is taking his passion for running for 24 hours straight.

A 110-mile trek from Sacramento to Elk Grove is all to raise money for the Sacramento chapter of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's Man of the Year Fundraiser.

According to the Leukemia Lymphoma Society, every four minutes someone is diagnosed with blood cancer, and every 10 minutes one person loses the fight.

Vogt hopes his run for a cause will make a difference.

CBS13 was there when Vogt crossed the finish line, asking how he felt.

"Somewhere between euphoric, little tired," said Vogt.

And emotions quickly set in.

"I am just thankful to God. This has been amazing, just amazing," said Vogt.

His three children say he's an inspiration to them.

"The fact that he did in such a great way and had so many people support him in this, just incredible; and I'm so proud to have him as my father," said Vogt's son.
