The Don Geronimo Show - May 30, 2012

Don begins by telling us about the maintenance guy at the station yesterday who cut in front of him in the bathroom, and then dropped his phone into the urinal. Don then makes the big announcement everyone's been waitng for: Steve Bryant will be joining the show!! Don gives Steve a call to talk to him about making the move to Sacramento, and the job offers he had been given that very week he was asked to join the show. We are very lucky to have such a talented guy on board! Don even tells Steve to write a song about joining the show. Steve says he'll have it in 2 hours!

Don then tells us that not only is the Little Joe vs. Blind Neal boxing match on for June 14, he's got Blind Neal on the phone, as well as the promoter, Mark Wilke. The guys talk about the match, and Neal and Joe even exchange in some serious smack talk. We then get a visit from Justin Silver, from the new CBS TV show "Dogs In The City," which premieres tonight. Justin tells us how the show came about, how intuitive dogs really are, and his methodologies for training dogs. We then hear a few clips, including the news report from yesterday's story about a man ramming a Taco Bell over a mistake in his order, and a kid who is doped up from surgery, saying "I feel dizzaayyy!!" Phantom's son Kyle just got his driver's license, and the guys talk about their experiences with drivers ed and drivers training, before talking about their favorite Kurt Russell movies, and Michelle Beadle's resemblance to Meg Ryan. We then hear Donald Trump on Wolf Blitzer, apparently still making a big deal about President Obama's birth certificate.

After hearing clips of Regis hosting Piers Morgan, with Letterman as his guest, and seeing a picture of a guy on the Food Network show "Chopped" who looks like Don, Steve Bryant comes through with his new song, a parody of "Sweet Home, Chicago," about joining the show. we then hear a clip of the 80 year old Lodi woman who almost slipped out of her parachute harness on the "Today" show. We then get a visit from Steve Harwell, lead singer of Smash Mouth. Steve tells us about the new Smash Mouth record coming out, the upcoming show at the Roseville Fairgrounds, and their recent tour in South America. Don then tells us about a New Jersey man who stabbed himself, and began throwing pieces of his intestines at the police, before calling Neal back for more Neal/Joe smack talk.

It's then time for the "Phantom News Hour." Today, Phantom tells us that Terrell Owens has be released from his I.F.L. team, a serpent handling pastor who died over the weekend from a snake bite, the "iBathroom," and TV reminders for tonight. And of course, Don wraps everything up with a caller 100!
