UPDATE: Stanislaus Standoff Suspect Dead

TURLOCK (CBS13) - Stanislaus County sheriff's deputies responded to reports of a suicidal man at a Turlock home on North Verduga Road.

The suspect opened fire when deputies arrived at the scene. Deputies returned fire, but it is not know if the man was hit.

The man is reported to be in his mid-40s.

Authorities have confirmed the suspect is dead but have not confirmed whether he shot himself or if he was shot by deputies.
