Slain Stockton Woman's Family Offering Reward For Killer's Capture

STOCKTON (CBS13) - With no suspect and no motive, a reward is now being offered to help solve the murder of an elderly Stockton woman.

It's been almost two weeks since Hazel Dingman was killed, and her family is hopeful a reward will help bring justice.

"I pray every night that they find this person," her brother said during a press conference announcing the award on Tuesday. "Somebody please help us."

The 84-year-old murder victim's family is yearning for closure.

"Maybe it's just a tiny tip that can bring light to this case," Hazel's son Brian Dingman said.

The case began July 5. Hazel was home alone for only a few hours when her daughter came to the house and found her body and the home ransacked.

The family is offering a $3,000 reward along with $1,000 from Crime Stoppers. The hope is cash will help bring in tips.

"The money may just be an added bonus for the person who is sitting there knowing they need to step forward and do the right thing," daughter Susan Trinchera said.

The famly laid hazel to rest last week knowing her killer is still on the loose. They fear she won't be the last victim.

"Everybody out here has a mother. Everybody has a grandmother," her son said. "This person is going to get them."

Detectives have been working tirelessly to find the person capable of attacking and killing Hazel, but they need someone to step forward.

"Our homicide detectives know there is a person out there that knows exactly what happened to Hazel," Officer Joseph Silva said. "Today we want to reach out to that person."

The murder mystery continues to spread fear in the Weston Ranch community

"This person needs to be off the street, period," her son said.

There's a growing memorial for Hazel outside her home, and the family said it would accept donations to go toward the reward money.
