SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Four people got out safely after a fire ravaged the garage of their south Sacramento home and then spread to the attic Thursday morning.
The residents awoke to find the garage of their home at 5552 Troutdale Way fully engulfed in flames. They ran out to the backyard as the fire spread.
The garage is a total loss, and a car parked nearby was severely damaged as well. But firefighters were able to put the fire out before it destroyed the rest of the home.
Fire investigators say the fire started in the garage, but don’t know exactly how it was caused.
Two dogs belonging to the family were accounted for, but two cats were still missing.
