RANCHO CORDOVA (CBS13) – Sheriff’s detectives are investigating the death of a Rancho Cordova man involved in a shooting Thursday night.

Just after 10:30 p.m., a man called the authorities from the 2400 block of Moraine Circle reporting that he had been shot.

The 33 year-old victim was transported to the hospital for multiple gunshot wounds on his body, but died as a result of his injuries early Friday afternoon.

After arriving at the scene, sheriff’s deputies and police discovered the victim seated inside of a vehicle.

The victim didn’t have any information regarding suspects, or a possible vehicle that may have been involved.

The name of the victim will be released by the Sacramento County Coroner’s office after notification has been made to his next of kin.
