SACRAMENTO (CBS13) – Monday is the last day to register to vote in California, but state officials are making a special effort to get as many people registered as possible.
State Secretary of State Debra Bowen is holding a deadline-day drive at Cal Expo to give people the opportunity to register. The event will go until midnight. People can also register to vote online at RegisterToVote.ca.gov.
“If you haven’t yet registered to vote in next month’s presidential election, it’s time to make it happen,” said Secretary Bowen, California’s chief elections officer. “Go online or head over to Cal Expo today before the midnight deadline.”
Registration applications must be postmarked or received in person by elections officials no later than midnight. Online voter registration applications must also be submitted by midnight.
