Cousins Helps Kings Beat Winless Lakers In Final Preseason Game

SAN DIEGO (AP) — The Los Angeles Lakers closed out a winless preseason with a 94-82 loss to the Sacramento Kings on Thursday night.

The Lakers (0-8) played without Kobe Bryant, who is nursing a bruised and strained right foot and is questionable for Tuesday's opener against Dallas. Bryant did not make the trip to San Diego for the exhibition finale.

Dwight Howard, recovering from back surgery, played his second preseason game for Los Angeles and finished with nine points and eight rebounds.

DeMarcus Cousins had 20 points and 13 rebounds for the Kings, who finished off a 5-2 preseason and will face Chicago in their opener on Tuesday.
