Woman Dies In Early Morning Fire At Citrus Heights Mobile Home Park

CITRUS HEIGHTS (CBS13) – A woman died in an overnight fire at a Citrus Heights mobile home park.

Neighbors called 911 around 2:30 Friday morning when a motor home inside the Auburn Vista Mobile Home Community went up in flames.

Sacramento Metro Fire crews blocked Auburn Boulevard at Antelope Road to get to the fire.

"It's sad. Somebody in your trailer park that you know is gone like that," resident Ariel Angelo said. "It's pretty sad."

Neighbors told firefighters the person who lived there was still inside.

After extinguishing the flames, firefighters discovered the body of a woman inside along with two small dogs.

Investigators are looking into the cause. The battalion chief told the Sacramento Bee that firefighters found cigarette butts around the woman's bed. They were also looking at her propane heater for any mechanical problems.
