VACAVILLE (CBS13) – One person was killed and another was badly injured after a car slammed into a tree off Interstate 80 in Vacaville on Monday morning, according to the CHP.

The accident happened east of Mason Street on westbound 80 at about 8:30 a.m. Two people were inside a four-door sedan when the car went off the interstate and hit the tree for unknown reasons.

An adult female suffered major injuries and was taken to a local hospital. No information was available on the person who died.
