Roseville High Teen Gives Wish to 5-Year-Old

ROSEVILLE (CBS13) — A Roseville High senior's generosity helped make a 5-year-old's wish come true with a little help from his friends and family.

The fact Evan Artica will be graduating high school is a miracle after his bone cancer diagnosis three years ago. He's celebrating being cancer-free with a few dozen of his closest friends, including a special 5-year-old named Will.

Will was born with a heart defect. He needed emergency surgery and nearly died. Doctors were able to help save his life.

Even though this is Evan's day, he's giving it to Will. Instead of gifts, Evan asked his friends and family to help make Will's Make-a-Wish journey a reality: A trip to the Kennedy Space Center and lunch with an astronaut.

This isn't the first time Evan has shown his giving spirit. When he was battling cancer and Make-a-Wish wanted to know his dream, he decided to donate the roughly $6,000 he would have used to his high school's peer-counseling program.
