Stockton Grass Fire Spreads To Cardboard Warehouse

STOCKTON (CBS13) – A Stockton grass fire spread quickly to a warehouse Saturday, burning a stack of recycled cardboard.

The fire burned behind Recycled Fibers of California on Church Street.

Fortunately, crews were able to get the two-alarm fire under control before it spread to more property.

“A lot of times the fire is burning on the outside, but the BTU production that comes from that requires a lot of water, and then ultimately we’ll have to get in there and break it up. We’re ordering heavy equipment to accomplish that,” said Stockton Fire Bat. Chief Matt Duaime.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
