UPDATE: Fire Burns More Than 5 Acres Along American River Parkway
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - A fire is burning more than five acres along the American River Parkway, fire officials say.
The fire is burning on the north side of the American River, across from 33rd and C Streets.
Sacramento Fire crews say they are having trouble getting to the flames and are attempting to access the fire near Lathrop Way and Commerce Circle on the north side of the American River.
No structures are currently threatened.
The fire is putting off a thick smoke, forcing some people nearby to don masks to protect themselves from the smoke.
Witnesses in the area told CBS13 they heard a bang, and then saw flames
