Police: Elderly Woman With Dementia Arrested, Stabbed Fellow Patient

DIXON (CBS13) - A 77-year-old woman who was being treated for dementia is now being treated like a criminal.

Martha Glover was arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon -- a comb.

Police arrested her at the Solano Life House Care Facility in Dixon where she was being treated for dementia.

They say Glover sent an 83-year-old fellow patient to the hospital after she stabbed them in the face and head with a pointed hand comb.

The family admits Glover can become combative when she doesn't take her medication, but never expected her to be hauled away in handcuffs.

"It was handled wrong. The steps they should have taken was to 5150 her and take her to the hospital. There's no way they should have taken her to jail," said daughter Lenore Dangerfield.

Glover will face a judge on Monday.
