Calif. Firefighters Gather In Turlock For Old Time Competition
TURLOCK (CBS13) - Firefighters from across California stepped back in time in Turlock for a time honored competition.
In the Fireman's Muster, teams use antique equipment such as bucket brigades, hand pumpers, hose cars, and vintage fire trucks to race.
The best firefighters and volunteers come out not just to compete but also to bond.
"You get together for a competition but also for friendship. It's like your whole muster family gets together and hangs out," competitor Elizabeth Hogan said.
The main purpose of the muster is to show the public the quality of the equipment and the firefighters fortitude.
