Rural Vacaville Fire Burns 3 Buildings And Vehicles

VACAVILLE (CBS13) - Remains of a fire that destroyed thousands of dollars of property were still smoldering at a home in Rural Solano County.

The four-alarm fire started on Monday at around 5 a.m. on Poplar and Willow Roads in Vacaville. Flames lit up the sky and smoke could be seen for miles. People also reported hearing explosions.

Firefighters were delayed in fighting the blaze due to the remote location of the residence and because the nearest hydrant was a half-mile away from the home on Leisure Town Road.

Six people in a nearby home were evacuated as a precaution. None of those people were injured.

The flames damaged three outbuildings, two cars and a boat.

Fire crews are still working to figure out what caused the fire.
