South Sacramento Early Morning Shooting Leaves 1 Injured

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Police are investigating a shooting in south Sacramento that sent one man to the hospital early Wednesday morning.

A 27-year-old man was shot on Franciscan Way and Valley Hi Drive around 4:30 a.m.

Officials say the victim was shot twice in the chest while in his bedroom. He was taken to a nearby hospital and is in surgery.

Currently, police do not have any suspects.

"We are doing a canvas of the area. We do not have any suspects at this time. The residents that live in the home are being interviewed and questioned at this time. So, it's still under investigation," a spokesperson with the Sacramento Police Department said.

It is unknown if the shooting occurred inside or outside of the home, say officers, or if the victim was shot from the outside.
