Old Sacramento Celebrates Region's Multi-Cultural Diversity With Annual Festival
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Old Sacramento was transformed into the cultural Mecca of the region Sunday for the Sacramento World Music and Dance Festival.
The event brought together all the diverse cultures that helped form the Sacramento region, which included dancing and art on display from many of the different cultures in the area.
Organizers tell CBS13, the cultural diversity in the region has deep roots.
"We're celebrating the fusions of the root cultures that came here because of the Gold Rush, and if it wasn't for the Gold Rush we wouldn't be so multi-culturally integrated," said Brett Freeman.
The annual festival ended at 5 p.m., but it will return next year for a seventh time.
