Auburn Street Closed Following Major Water Main Break

AUBURN (CBS13) - A 12-inch water main pipe broke overnight on High Street, leaving some Auburn residents without water.

The Placer County Water Agency received calls about the break around 1:20 a.m. Wednesday.

The pipe developed a crack, which caused the break, according to PCWA Field Services Director Mike Nichol. High Street has been torn up as crews work to repair the pipe.

Nichols says there is still one working water main on the street, so the outage is relatively small.

Placer High School is nearby, but school officials say students were not impacted by the break.
