Sacramento Police Investigating Death Of 5-Year-Old Girl
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Law enforcement officers are actively investigating the death of a 5-year-old girl.
Emergency dispatchers received a call at 8:35 p.m. Sunday that a child had been injured. When police and fire personnel converged on the 3800 block of Jasmine Street, they found a girl apparently suffering life-threatening injuries, according to a Sacramento Police Department statement. She was taken to the hospital where she was later pronounced dead.
Homicide detectives, crime scene investigators and child protective services personnel were notified about the incident.
Police have not said what caused the child's injuries.
