Marysville Mother Surprised By Pregnancy, Again By Baby In Bathtub

MARYSVILLE (CBS13) — A Marysville woman who didn't know she was pregnant with her third child for many months didn't know she was going into labor until it was too late.

Weighing in at 7 pounds, 6 ounces, baby Angel was coming no matter what, forcing Cheyenne Le Melle to deliver at home, in her bathtub.

At first, Cheyenne didn't realize she was pregnant until two months ago.

"All of a sudden, I felt a kick in my stomach, so I found out I was pregnant," she said.

Then, she didn't know she was going into labor, not noticing when her water broke. She was in labor at home for three hours and had no idea. On top of that, she was all alone as her husband had left with their cellphone.

"So I just went to sleep," she said "I woke up with pain and contractions. I tried to take a shower to see if that would calm it down."

Then came the sudden urge to push.

"I pushed once on accident like really hard, and I felt the head pop out, so I just pushed again and pulled him out," she said.

By the time her husband, Joey, came home, their son had already been born. He quickly called 911.

When Marysville Fire Captain Mike Crandall arrived, Mom was holding her baby closely.

"The mother was pretty calm, so it was a pretty neat experience."

He says these calls are rare.

"To actually have the baby there, and it will stand out and I'll remember it probably the rest of my life," Crandall said.

After three days in the hospital, Mom and baby will be heading home on Wednesday.
