Coachella Festival Concertgoer Collapses, Dies

INDIO (AP) — Authorities are trying to determine whether drugs or alcohol caused the death of a woman who collapsed last weekend at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival in Southern California.

The Riverside County coroner's office says 24-year-old Kimchi Truong of Oakland was at the festival in Indio on Saturday when she collapsed. She died at a hospital on Thursday.

The cause of death wasn't clear pending an autopsy and toxicology tests.

However, coroner's Sgt. Curt James tells the Desert Sun of Palm Springs that investigators haven't ruled out a drug overdose.

Concert promoter Goldenvoice issued a statement saying the festival attendee suffered "an apparent overdose."
