Grass Valley Hotel Manager And 14 Others Arrested Following Raid
GRASS VALLEY (CBS13) – More than a dozen people were arrested after an investigation uncovered a stash of drugs and guns inside of a hotel room.
According to the Grass Valley Police Department, officers showed up at the Holiday Lodge along East Main Street around 7 a.m. Friday due to a report of people inside of a room that was supposed to be empty.
Several people, along with about two grams of meth and drug paraphernalia, were found inside the room. Further investigation into other rooms at the motel uncovered more drugs, drug paraphernalia and guns, police say.
Inside one of the other rooms, police say, a trap door leading to a basement was discovered. A police K9 was brought in to search the room and more drugs were found.
Police later found themselves arresting a total of 15 people in connection to the find – including the hotel's manager, 43-year-old Dawn Olson, who police are charging with maintain the hotel in order to sell drugs.
Code enforcement officers were called out to the hotel, due to the poor condition of its rooms, and have noted numerous safety violations that will need to be addressed immediately.
Below is a list of the people arrested in the incident:
1. Dawn Olson (43 years old) – criminal conspiracy, and maintaining a place for selling and using controlled substances.
2. Aron Bendix (43 years old) – possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, resisting and delaying an officer.
3. Michael Bowers (45 years old) – possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia
4. Travis McBride (27 years old) – possession of a controlled substance, possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a firearm while committing a felony
5. Jesse Poff (30 years old) – under the influence of a controlled substance
6. Brandon Hodge (26 years old) – possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia
7. Timothy Brady (22 years old) – possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and 3 Nevada County warrants for drug and theft charges
8. Joseph Norton (23 years old) – possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia
9. Christine Sharsmitt (32 years old) – possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of probation
10. Cory GoodrichFordyce (23 years old) – felon in possession of a firearm, felon in possession of hi cap magazines, felon in possession of ammunition, violation of probation
11. Derek Pinneo (30 years old) – possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of probation
12. Nicole Carman (29 years old) – possession of methamphetamine, possession of a loaded firearm
13. Dennis Ferguson (25 years old) – possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia
14. Michael Cameron (34 years old) – violation of parole, possession of metal knuckles, driving with a suspended license, possession of marijuana
15. Kaitlyn Sulley (30 years old) – possession of drug paraphernalia, violation of probation
