Isaiah Thomas Leaving Kings For Phoenix Suns In Sign-And-Trade Deal
SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — The Phoenix Suns and Sacramento Kings are finishing a sign-and-trade deal for Isaiah Thomas, according to league sources.
Thomas' deal with the Suns is said to be 4 years for $27 million. He was a restricted free agent.
In return, the Kings get the draft rights to C Alex Oriakhi. He played for UConn's 2010-11 NCAA Champion men's basketball team. Oriakhi transferred to Missouri for his senior season, because of UConn's postseason ban for academic reasons.
Oriakhi was drafted by the Suns last season, but split his time between playing overseas in Europe and earning rookie first-team honors in the NBA Developmental League.
