Nevada County Wildfire Prompts Evacuation Orders
NEVADA COUNTY (CBS13) – Firefighters are battling a fire south of Grass Valley that has prompted evacuations and destroyed a couple of homes Saturday afternoon.
The fire is near Dog Bar and Taylor Crossing Road, about 10 miles southeast of Grass Valley, according to Cal Fire.
Daniel Berlant, Cal Fire's public information officer, says that evacuations were ordered for several streets in the area with around a dozen homes threatened.
The fire has grown to about 250 acres as of 8 p.m.
By Saturday night, Berlant noted that some evacuations had been lifted. A total of two homes and three outbuildings had been destroyed in the fire.
