Carmichael Dave: Scenes From A Championship

Often times,  you will hear the line "you couldn't have written a better script", but Saturday night that cliché came alive.

Calling the inaugural season of the Sacramento Republic FC a whirlwind is a massive understatement, the last year was more like an F-5 tornado. They started out with a splash, and finished up with a title wave.

It was a magical evening to cap a magical year for the little startup that could. The road to MLS should be paved with difficulty and struggle, but the momentum train of the Capital City seemingly cannot be stopped.

In reality, this was a team thrown together of rookies, has beens, and MLS bench players needing a home. Lets be honest, young soccer players don't dream of growing up to play mid-level soccer. But on a breezy and warm September evening, amongst ferris wheels to match the carnival atmosphere, the electricity rivaled that of which you'd see in Barcelona, Manchester, or Sau Paulo.

I glued together some clips from the match. Note- I am not a professional video person. Everything was shot with my phone, and pieced together from an iMovie template. So forget about quality, think of it more as a home movie.

Load it up, put it on full screen, turn up the volume- and enjoy.
