Foothill Farms Family Shocked To Find Porno Movie Instead Of Game In Redbox Rental

FOOTHILL FARMS (CBS13) — A 4-year-old boy and his mom got an unpleasant surprise when they wanted to rent a video game at a Redbox kiosk.

The Foothill Farms mom reached out to CBS13 wanting to know how an adult movie could end up in a children's video game case.

Derek's only 4, but he already has a favorite video game. Of course, kids have short attention spans, so his parents took him to a Foothill Farms Redbox.

"He took the movie out and I kinda looked over and got a glance," his dad Elmont Place said.

It was supposed to be a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game. Instead, it was "World's Largest C----: Girls Love Really Big D----," which featured a disc as racy as the title would imply, and nothing a parent wants their 4-year-old to see.

"I showed my wife and I said, 'You're not gonna believe this, but this just came out of the Redbox,'" she said.

When his irate wife, Natasha, called the company to complain.

"They basically told me there was nothing they could do about it, and I should put it back in the machine and they might have somebody come out and check on it," she said.

That wasn't good enough for them, so they kept the DVD and called CBS13.

A customer service representative told CBS13 someone peeled off part of a barcode sticker from the video game, and placed it on the pornographic DVD before returning it. Since the system relies on the sticker, it can't tell the difference.

The couple thinks one possibility is it's someone's scam to get a free video game.

"Either that, or they're very sick people trying to expose little children or people to that kinda stuff," Elmont said.

Redbox said they're more than happy to offer them a free movie, but that's not what the parents are after.

"There needs to be a further investigation done find out who these people are," Natasha said.

She said the company urged her to return the DVD, but she won't, saying she won't risk the same thing happening to another unsuspecting family. She says if Redbox really wants to investigate, they'll have to come to her home to get it.

The customer service representative told CBS13 it's not the first time they've heard of movies being switched out, but they couldn't tell us anything the company is doing to try to prevent it from happening.
