Deputies: Home Invasion Suspect Shot With Own Gun

SACRAMENTO COUNTY (CBS13) – A home invasion suspect was shot with his own gun while reportedly breaking into a Sacramento home this morning.

The shooting happened on Glenwood Road, near the intersection of Watt Avenue and Hurley Way.

Sacramento Sheriff's say when the homeowner heard someone breaking into his house, he fought with the suspect, got the suspect's gun and fired several shots – hitting the suspect at least once in the chest.

The suspect is now being treated at the hospital.

Narcotics detectives are now at the shooting scene after responding officers saw what they call "obvious signs of drugs in the house."
