Police Searching For Vandals Of Strong-Mayor Campaign's Midtown Sacramento Headquarters

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) — Sacramento Police are searching for the suspects who vandalized the campaign headquarters of the strong-mayor initiative, Measure L, on Tuesday.

Workers inside the building describe say an unknown object was thrown at the window, shattering part of it at around 7 p.m.

"It was just a real scary sound it startled everybody it's just something that shouldn't be happening," said Amir Johnson, who was inside the office at the time.

He says they tried to chase down the suspects, who took off down the street on bicycles, but lost them after a couple of blocks.

Campaign manager Josh Wood says he doesn't know if the vandals targeted the office, but he's certain the suspects knew there were people inside.

"I mean we're saddened and frustrated by it, and we've been having lots of problems with our yard signs getting stolen and this happens," he said.
