Search Continues For Stockton Suspect Who Allegedly Sexually Assaulted 86-Year-Old Woman

STOCKTON (CBS13) — The search is on for the suspect who sexually assaulted an 86-year-old woman in her home, and police believe this wasn't the suspect's first attack.

Stockton Police say both women were over the age of 60, lived alone, and had their homes broken into through a window. And they're afraid the attacker will strike again.

Krista Koscielak woke up last Sunday morning when she noticed police at her neighbor's door.

"That was kind of a shock to hear I mean she's a really nice old lady," she said. "When we did look up we saw that she was being taken to the hospital."

Police were called to the Pacific Avenue apartment building by the 86-year-old woman who said she had been sexually assaulted.

The victim wasn't able to give a detailed description of her attacker, but police are looking into the possibility the case is connected to a similar attack last month.

"This person is definitely looking at older victims for their vulnerability that's why we need to get them off the street," said Stockton Police spokesman Joe Silva.
