Stockton Teachers Confront School Board At Meeting

STOCKTON (CBS13) — Stockton Unified School District teachers who say they are being bullied by district leaders confronted the school board during its meeting on Tuesday.

Parents joined the teachers as they walked into the school board meeting. According to the teachers, the district leaders want to be able to transfer a teacher to any school at any time.

They're upset about it and they're considering filing a complaint against the district after they claim the district's bargaining team made an offer, then took it back during mediation last week.

The teachers say if they file a complaint with the agency that oversees public sector bargaining and the district is found to be guilty of bad bargaining behavior, the district can be penalized.

They say they are willing to talk it out before going into mediation again in January.

Meanwhile, the school district released a statement saying in part the district remains optimistic and hopeful for a resolution.
