Brutal Beating Of Disabled Yuba City Man Likely Was Gang Violence

YUBA CITY (CBS13) — A disabled Yuba City man who is now fighting for his life was likely an innocent victim of gang violence, Yuba City Police said.

Manny Bath was found unconscious on a sidewalk following a brutal beating. His family is now searching for answers and is convinced the attack was planned with others yet to answer for their actions.

Bath is in a medically induced coma at Rideout Memorial Hospital after what police call coordinated gang activity.

"Everybody in the family is trying to figure out why somebody would do that to him," said his brother Ahmad Bath.

Manny Bath is disabled after suffering a brain injury and a stroke years ago, leaving him very weak on his left side. He's only recently learning how to walk again.

He was bludgeoned on Saturday evening near a 7-Eleven he was heading to on Market Street.

A witness CBS13 spoke to that didn't want to be identified came upon Bath and dialed 911.

"His head was hanging from the sidewalk and he was really bloody," the witness said.

Yuba City Police arrested Adam Holloway, Michael London Tombs and a 16-year-old.

Bath's family was horrified by what they say was a coordinated effort against a disabled man.

"Anybody with something, sort of disability, and somebody attacking him like that, and basically leaving them for dead, I just think there's nobody lower than that," Ahmad said.

He believes there are more people involved.

"I would say please come forward, call the police department or whoever that we can get information so we can get to the bottom of this," he said.

Manny Bath's family is in the process of trying to transfer him to UC Davis Medical Center for more advanced care.
