Woman Killed At El Dorado Hills Bar Had Many Northern California Ties

EL DORADO HILLS (CBS13) — Charges haven't been filed yet against the suspect accused of gunning down a woman in El Dorado Hills.

The El Dorado County Sheriff's Office has identified the victim as Khrista Ibarolle.

Workers at 36 Handles say the women were only there once before. They knew Ibarolle was new to town.

Deputies say what happened on Tuesday was a tragic fate of being in the wrong place at the wrong time.

While Ibarolle had just moved to El Dorado Hills, she was well-known and liked throughout Northern California. She belonged to a sustainable-living community in Sacramento, and was a jewelry partner at Home Consignment in Folsom.

Her coworkers say she was a kind soul who was passionate about the environment and connecting with new people.

Ibarolle was out on Tuesday night with a former co-worker from Home Consignment. They shared a glass of wine, closing the bar at 36 Handles.

Investigators say Anderson Swift, a felon from Oakland, allegedly shot and killed Ibarolle when she ran instead of turning over her money and keys. Deputies say Swift shot out the window of her friend's car out of frustration when Ibrarolle's keys didn't match the vehicle he first tried.

He would eventually crash the car that worked in a neighborhood later that night, investigators say.

Friends from Sacramento dropped off flowers where Ibarolle died. They say she was too good a person to be killed.
