Stanislaus County D.A. Won't Pursue Investigation Into Ceres Employees' Alleged Secret Recordings

CERES (CBS13) — The Stanislaus County District Attorney's office will not not be investigating allegations of public safety employees in Ceres putting cameras underneath a woman's desk.

In September, Stanislaus NAACP President Frank Johnson told CBS13 about rumors swirling about the employees putting video cameras under a female worker's desk and in changing rooms.

At that time, a city attorney said proceedings were pending regarding one or more employees, but the refused to comment further, citing confidentiality.

On Monday, Carol Shipley, Stanislaus County assistant district attorney issued a statement saying, "Police reports of an investigation into someone's concerns of possible surreptitious recording were provided to this office, however, we received nothing that established any crime had occurred."
