Garth Brooks Fever Continues In Sacramento

SACRAMENTO (CBS13) - Sleep Train Arena is overflowing with country music fans and a lot of cars!

Garth Brooks held his third of six sold-out shows at 10:30 p.m.

Garth Brooks fans went to great lengths to see the country superstar. Thousands brought their energy to superstar-long lines, while others skipped the parking situation all together.

"Definitely didn't drive. Just rode my skateboard," said a fan.

Some weren't even born when he made history. Others are back after seeing him in Sacramento the first time 17 years ago.

"It's a once-in-a-lifetime for us," said a fan.

They say you can measure a man in many ways.

"People think it's easy to stay 260, but you gotta work at it, ya know?" Brooks said at a press conference on Friday.

But on his fans' scale, Brooks weighs way more.

"I don't want to say heaven-sent, because that sounds weird to some people, but I do think he's here for a reason," said Dee Dee.

Dee Dee is such a huge fan, she bought a ticket to all his six of Garth's Sacramento shows and has been to every one of his concerts around the country.

"We used to tease Garth that if he waited too long, we would have to call it the walkers and wheelchairs tour," said Dee Dee.

Quite the contrary. His fans come in all cowboy hats and boot sizes.

"Some songs I'm like, I want to cry, and other songs I'm like, it's a good song, I like to jam out to it," said a young fan.

It doesn't matter who you ask at this arena. The Garth Brooks-effect runs deep.

"His music just runs through my veins," said a fan.
