Caltrans Closing Parts Of Interstate 80 In Placer County This Week To Raise Overcrossings

PLACER COUNTY (CBS13) - Eight miles of I-80 in south Placer County will be closed Tuesday and Wednesday night.

The closures will be in place from from 11 p.m. until 5 a.m. on both days.

Caltrans will close the interstate in both directions as part of the "Raise 80" project.

Crews will work to raise the Horseshoe Bar Road overcrossing in Newscastle. It's the fifth of nine overcrossings being raised.

Eastbound I-80 all traffic:
- Take the Sierra College Boulevard off-ramp toward Sierra College Boulevard.
- Take Sierra College Boulevard north toward Taylor Road.
- Take Taylor Road northeast toward the I-80/Highway 193 interchange.
- Head east on I-80 at the I-80/Highway 193 interchange.

Westbound I-80 all traffic:
- Take the Taylor Road off-ramp toward Taylor Road.
- Take Taylor Road southwest toward Sierra College Boulevard.
- Take Sierra College Boulevard south toward the Sierra College Boulevard interchange.
- Head west on I-80 at the Sierra College Boulevard interchange.
