What's your job?

"I work one-on-one with individuals and couples to help create a comprehensive financial plan that addressing achieving their short and long-term financial goals. I also help clients with wealth and investment account management."

Any parts you find most enjoyable?

"I enjoy coming up with solutions to help achieve goals clients may have regarding almost any aspect of their finances. The best feelings for me come when I can help a client retire sooner than he or she expected or when clients are able to pay for their children's college expenses easier because of a recommendation I made in the past."

What's your educational background?

"I completed a degree in business administration with a concentration in finance along with a minor in economics from Sonoma State University. I also completed the Series 7 exam with FINRA."

Has your education helped you in your current position?

"Yes. It wasn't until I went back to school after a handful of years in the business and completed an executive MBA program from Sacramento State University and then the certified financial planner exam when I become really confident in my ability to manage my own practice and be a better business owner."

Any advice for newcomers?

"The most important traits a financial advisor must possess is one. Truly caring about the well-being of others is another. Being able to communicate well with a variety of personality types is a third. Have an advanced proclivity for mathematics is a fourth. Be able to have a long-term approach to the business because being a financial advisor is not a "get rich quick scheme," it is really about consistency and building long-lasting relationships with the clients you serve."
