2 Adults, 3 Children Found Dead Inside Modesto Home; Person Of Interest Identified

MODESTO (CBS13) – A person of interest has been identified by police in the mass murder of five people inside a Modesto home.

The scene is at a home along the 2600 block of Nob Hill Court, off of Lincoln Oak Drive and Floyd Avenue. Modesto Police say they got a call early Saturday afternoon from a friend of the people who lived at the home, asking officers to do a welfare check.

Once at the home, officers found five people dead inside - two adults and three children.

"Churns your stomach a bit especially not knowing what happened," neighbor Parmindar Singh said.

Later Saturday evening, police identified 30-year-old Modesto resident Martin Martinez as a person of interest in the case.

Martinez may be driving a red 2000 Lincoln Navigator, plate number 7CNN611. Police consider him armed and dangerous and anyone who sees him is asked to call 911.

Officers have been going door to door looking for witnesses who possibly heard or saw anything suspicious.

"It's usually a pretty quiet neighborhood," said neighbor George Huntsinger.

Exactly how the five people died has not been released.
