Pair Accused Of Stealing Camaro While On Test Drive At Dealership

VACAVILLE (CBS13) – Police say a pair from Pleasanton led officers on a high-speed chase after stealing a car from a Vacaville dealership Friday evening.

The incident started around 6:30 p.m., when 37-year-old Shane Woodcook and 33-year-old Shawna McLemore are said to have shown up at the dealership allegedly looking to buy a car. Police say the pair took a white Chevy Camaro SS on a test drive with a salesman.

Shane and Shawna drove the Camaro over to the Wells Fargo Bank under the pretense that they were going to buy the car. However, this is when police say things got fishy.

First, Shawna went back to the car, claiming she needed some water. Shane then pretended that he forgot his ID and also went back to the car.

At this point, the salesman felt something was off and went outside to look for the pair. He soon found that the two were in the car. Shane allegedly claimed to have a gun, then hit the gas and peeled out.

Cops were called immediately and the Camaro was soon spotted by officers speeding on westbound Interstate 80. Officers chased after the car, with the Camaro at one point driving into oncoming freeway traffic.

Eventually, the pair drove into a neighborhood and bailed. Officers set up a perimeter and went yard to yard before a K9 found Shawna in a shed. She allegedly refused to surrender, but the K9 took her down and into custody. Shane was soon found close by and arrested.

The pair is now facing multiple felony charges, including conspiracy, carjacking, evading police, resisting arrest and violating probation.
