Hundreds of exhausted fire fighters had to move tons of equipment from the Rocky Fire to the Jerusalem Fire.

Crews hope containment lines from the Rocky Fire will help their efforts. Fifty structures are being threatened.

The Rocky Fire is 88 percent contained, according to a statement from Cal Fire spokesperson Daniel Berlant.

More than 10,000 firefighters are battling 18 active wildfires that continue to burn in California. In addition, over 50 fire engines and fire crews from Nevada, New Mexico and Arizona have been brought in to help.

Strong winds are expected across much of the most northern counties, northeastern California and the Northern Sierra. These winds will elevate the fire danger, says Berlant.

A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for parts of Siskiyou and Trinity counties starting due to gusty winds and low humidity.
