Crash Snarls Traffic On Highway 99 In Elk Grove

ELK GROVE (CBS13) - Traffic was at a crawl in both directions on Highway 99 in Elk Grove on Friday following a crash in the southbound lanes.

The incident happened just after 3:30 p.m. on a frontage road and spilled over into lanes of the highway, according to a Sacramento Metro Fire Department spokesperson.

Three people were taken to the hospital, two with serious injuries.

Traffic was backed up on northbound Highway 99 as well as drivers slowed to look at the crash.

Around 5:20 p.m. Elk Grove police said all traffic lanes were back to open to traffic.
