Downsized Stockton Greyhound Station Making Way For Possible Shopping Center

STOCKTON (CBS13) — Signs promising a new shopping center have appeared around Stockton's Greyhound station.

The advertisements at the Greyhound bus terminal went up last month, but to say a new shopping center is coming soon is more wishful thinking.

Sitting under Highway 4 and a few feet from the new courthouse, the city has given the go-ahead for the property owner to start advertising for retailers.

The real-estate broker for the property North Gate Commercial says the Greyhound station will stay, but only in the back. It currently takes up 17,000 square feet.

The firm says the shopping center is still in the first phase of trying to attract business, but it hopes to have tenants signed by the middle of 2016.
